The workshop held at Shendi University focused on the feasibility of renewable energies and highlighted the geothermal energy potential in Sudan. Participants examined the economic aspects of renewable energy projects, taking into account energy costs and carbon savings. They concluded that Sudan’s geothermal energy prospects are promising. With thorough exploration and development, geothermal energy could become a significant component of the nation’s energy mix, aiding in the pursuit of sustainable and clean energy objectives.
The event was attended by several university professors. Among the most important attendees were the university president, the dean of the College of Science and Technology, the dean of the College of Engineering, and other university staff members.
